A major road was closed after emergency services were called to a two-vehicle smash in Harpurhey last night.

Police, ambulance crews and fire crews raced to the scene on Rochdale Road at around 10.30pm. In images shared with the Manchester Evening News, a black car appears to have extensive damage to the front with a large amount of debris in the road.

The collision took place at the junction of Rochdale Road and Moston Lane, outside Asda. Fortunately there were no injuries.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said officers were called to Rochdale Road at 10.28pm last night, April 19 to reports of a two vehicle collision. The force confirmed there were no injuries, but both cars were damaged.

Crews from the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service were also in attendance.
