Is Catwoman a Kardashian? Has the idea of branding gone too far? Too literal?
I get it. Batman has the bat theme and it’s scary and everything he has is named “Bat.” Batmobile. Batarangs. Batcomputer. Bat-shark repellent…
I also get that Catwoman is themed too. But scary? I think cats are adorable. Are they stealthy? Heck yeah! I had my cat and I adored him! I swear that *BLEEP* was trying to kill me, though. Oftentimes when I was at the top of the stairs about to take a step down, there was my cat, directly underfoot! When literally a second ago he was not there when I looked, he was all the way over on the couch! He was extra stealthy if I was carrying a full laundry basket!
But anyway… Has the marketing gone too far? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know she’s a ‘cat’ burglar. It goes with the motif. I get that cats steal stuff. I personally have lost way too many tubes of ChapStick. I’m not saying all of them were stolen by my cat but a good quarter of them were!
Cats drink milk! But over the course of years I’ve read Catwoman, she has drunk an ungodly amount of lactose. That cannot be good for you. My god, has the woman even heard of coffee? You just pour a bit of milk in your coffee. You don’t lap up entire bowls of that stuff.
Also, she’s got all those cats! What is the litter box situation in that house/apartment? At least Batman keeps all his bats in a cave hidden under his house. (Let’s not even bring up what the guano situation is down there.) Do the cops show up to her place, walk in, see all those cats and think “Yep! This is Catwoman. Arrest her.”?
I get branding, but maybe it’s gone too far. Maybe she should have a reality show executive-produced by Ryan Seacrest.
If you have a cat, do me a favor, give its noggin a little scratch for me.
Happy Friday!
