Viewers think that Aidan will end up in danger if he wakes up in time for the big day
Emmerdale fans believe that Aidan Moore will wake up from his hospital coma just in time for Aaron Dingle and John Sugden’s wedding.
In recent episodes, viewers saw John visit an unidentified man in the hospital before flashbacks showed his true character.
When arriving in the village, John informed everyone including half-sister Victoria that his Army mate Aidan died while at war in tragic circumstances.
In upcoming episodes, Victoria meets John’s ex-soldier mate, Connor. As they reminisce about John, Victoria is left astounded to learn that Aidan is still alive. As Connor opens up to Victoria about what happened in Afghanistan, and reveals that Aidan is in a coma at a hospital in Leeds, Victoria’s left reeling at the revelation.
When she confronts John, his fight or flight mode is immediately activated as he panics at his lies suddenly being exposed.
During Thursday’s (April 17) hour-long instalment, viewers saw John pay Aidan another visit and this time he wasn’t alone.
As he walked into the hospital room, a woman named Kathleen was sat at the bedside, which we later found out was Aidan’s mum.
She told John that she’s certain she saw his eyes move and hand twitched as she spoke to him, as she admitted she thinks he’ll wake up soon.
John then asked for some time alone and said to Aidan: “You’re stuck, locked in there for eternity, she just can’t bring herself to admit it. I owe you an apology, when I turned up the other day I was so wound up… Everyone at work blamed me for what happened to Kerry… You know how much I hate that.
“So, I thought you’d like to know I made it right, I saved Jacob. I worked my magic, gave him another shot at life. The one thing I couldn’t do for you. I tried my best to save you… I cannot help but blame myself.”
During his speech, it was implied that John had moved on from Aidan to Aaron, with some fans theorising that he must have been an ex-partner.
With John desperate to keep him being alive a secret from everyone in his life, fans are convinced that Aidan will wake up in time and gatecrash John and Aaron’s wedding, in true soap style.
On X (formerly known as Twitter), @MeeshyJay wrote: “Aiden will be showing up at psycho John’s wedding to spill the beans i bet” as @Louise07955 added: “Oh I bet Aiden is going to wake up just before the wedding. Will John kill again.”
@roscoeleebarnes echoed: “Aidan is definitely gatecrashing John and Aaron’s wedding” as @DionPetrie penned: “’m guessing he will wake up sometime near the wedding”.
Actor Danny Miller recently spoke to Metro, and teased: “It’s a typical soap wedding, I guess. There are a lot of surprises along the way, it’s not a normal wedding in terms of it being straight-forward; it’s very different.
“They decided to show a new way of how we tell stories, to try and keep up with Netflix and Amazon and these brilliant dramas being made. So it’s a bit of a special episode, there are a fair few surprises, a couple that are huge and a couple that people will really enjoy – and some that people won’t!
“It’s good to get people talking. There are some really big moments in there that will blow the audience’s minds. To be a part of that is amazing.”
