Tommy Fury has confirmed he will return to the boxing ring in May – as talk of a rematch with KSI continues.

Fury, the half-brother of former heavyweight world champion Tyson, is undefeated with 10 fights on his record. However, he was due to face Darren Till at the start of this year but pulled out of the fight a month before.

The former Love Island man said he had withdrawn from the bout scheduled at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester because Till had made it clear that he did not want to abide by the professional boxing rules.

But now after nearly two years out of the ring, Fury has confirmed he will return on May 9 in Budapest. Taking to social media, he wrote: “Two years out. One surgery. The hardest battle I’ve faced has been the mental battle of being away from boxing.

“But I’m back stronger, sharper, and more HUNGARY than ever. May 9th, Budapest… It’s showtime. Let’s go!”

Fury hasn’t fought since a points win against YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI in October 2023. The 25-year-old won the fight with the scorecards reading 57-57, 57-56, despite having a point deducted in the contest.

KSI labelled the scoring ‘outrageous’ as he insisted he landed the cleanest shots. And he would welcome a rematch.

“I’d love a rematch with Tommy Fury,” he told talkSPORT last month. “I’d love it. But for me this time, I’d like to make sure weight wise it is much more fair.

“I didn’t realise after the weigh-in that he had gained like 20lbs. And it was annoying me. The shots I was hitting him with, he was able to just eat them and carry on.

“I was there like ‘this guy has gained so much more weight’. So the weight we were meant to fight at, is what I was actually at.”

Before beating KSI, Fury defeated influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul in Saudi Arabia in February 2023.
