Here’s what you need to know:
The region is set for a grey day
Gloomy skies are set to lurk over Greater Manchester – with the recent sunny spell now firmly in the past.
The Met Office has issued a 24-hour weather warning for heavy rain in parts of the UK from midday today (April 15), including some areas of the North West.
Downpours are expected to batter Liverpool, parts of Cheshire and the Wirral, plus Wales, parts of the Midlands near the Welsh border, and the South West.
Fortunately, Greater Manchester has escaped the weather warning, and the region’s forecast is much drier than other parts of the country.
But dull, overcast skies are set to dominate the region today, casting memories of the long spell of glorious sunshine behind us.
The region is forecast for top temperatures of 14C in Bury, Manchester, Salford, Stockport, Tameside and Trafford today, with other areas set for a maximum of 13C.
Overcast conditions are expected throughout the day in Greater Manchester, according to the Met Office.
Dry, but dull weather is expected across the region this morning and early afternoon, with a chance of rain to hit the region from late afternoon.
Wigan is forecast for the wettest weather, with periods of light rain expected from 5pm until Wednesday morning.
Bolton and Trafford are also forecast for light rain in the early evening, before a break from 7pm to 10pm, with rain returning later on.
All other boroughs are expected to see a dry evening until late at night, with periods of rain forecast from 10pm or 11pm heading into Tuesday.
However, the Met Office isn’t ruling out light rain earlier in the day, with a chance of precipitation at less than 50 per cent from late afternoon in most areas.
Temperatures are forecast to drop to 6C or 7C overnight across Greater Manchester.
