Here’s what you need to know:
Man United head coach Ruben Amorim has shuffled his pack for Sunday afternoon’s Premier League clash with Newcastle United.
Altay Bayindir will make his Premier League debut and Harry Amass will make his full Manchester United debut against Newcastle United this afternoon.
It was reported by the Manchester Evening News this morning that Andre Onana had not travelled with the squad for this afternoon’s game at St James’ Park.
It is understood the Cameroonian has been taken out of the firing line following his two mistakes against Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday night. He could return for the second leg against the French club this coming Thursday.
It is the first time since Onana joined the club in July 2023 that he has been left out of the United starting XI for a Premier League game. Bayindir’s previous seven appearances for United have been in the two domestic cup competitions and the Europa League.
Bayindir’s introduction to the starting XI is one of five changes Amorim has made from the draw with Lyon. Alongside Bayindir, Victor Lindelof, Amass, who is making his full debut, Christian Eriksen and Joshua Zirkzee have come into the side, meaning Onana, Harry Maguire, Patrick Dorgu, Casemiro and Rasmus Hojlund have dropped out.
Amass’ previous appearance for United was as a substitute in the 3-0 win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium a month ago.
Elsewhere, Ayden Heaven is back in the squad and has been named on the bench following a recent injury.
United starting XI: Bayindir; Mazraoui, Yoro, Lindelof; Dalot, Ugarte, Fernandes, Amass; Garnacho, Eriksen, Zirkzee.
Substitutes: Heaton, Heaven, Maguire, Shaw, Dorgu, Casemiro, Mainoo, Mount, Hojlund.
