Police said they were called to an incident near Abraham Moss station, off Crescent Road in Crumpsall.

A man in his 20s had suffered serious injures consistent with a stabbing, Greater Manchester Police said.

The force said in a statement: “At around 9pm yesterday (12/04/2025), we responded to reports of a man with injuries consistent with a stabbing at the playfields near Abraham Moss Tram Station.

“The man in his 20s was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“A scene remains in place while CSI gather evidence and detectives investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.

“We are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have crucial information which may assist with enquiries to come forward.
