Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels actor Nick Moran has undergone major surgery

Harry Potter actor Nick Moran faces a daunting prognosis of potentially never walking or talking again followinga severe health condition. His friend Terry Stone shared the news on social media, revealing that Moran had been rushed to hospital for major surgery.

Moran was photographed in his hospital bed, giving a thumbs-up to the camera. The 55 year old actor, who starred in Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and 2 – sought medical attention after experiencing neck pain, which led to the discovery of his serious condition.

Despite initial reluctance to seek help, preferring to use deep heat, Moran’s girlfriend persuaded him to get checked out.

Upon visiting the doctors, he was informed that he required immediate surgery due to the life-threatening nature of his condition. Moran, also known for his role in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, had injured his neck, leading to complications with his spinal cord and affecting his speech and leg function.

Speaking to MailOnline, Stone revealed: “He’s recovering but [doctors] basically said he might never walk or talk again, which was traumatic. He’s not in the best of health, but when he came out of the operation I was like ‘thank God’ because I think he’d decided he’d rather not walk or talk than die.”

The surgical procedure involved cutting into Moran’s spine and removing four bones from his neck, which were then replaced with artificial ones, Stone further explained.

Terry, the co-host of Nick’s podcast, has relayed a positive health update on behalf of Nick and his family, following what appears to have been a successful operation, reports the Mirror.

Nick is currently making progress in his recovery, ‘speaking and shuffling around’ after undergoing major surgery.

The initial announcement of Nick’s condition was made by Terry via social media, where he posted an image of Nick in a hospital bed. Accompanying the photo, Terry shared: “News update for you all on Nick Moran.

“He’s had major surgery and is recovering in the ICU he’s giving us the thumbs up but still needs your support, prayers and love. Let’s pray he fully recovers and is be back to normal soon.

“We did a fantastic podcast together a few months back. Nick is very private and isn’t on social media he did ours as an exclusive and you can all tune in to watch us together this Sunday at 6pm.”

He concluded by promising to keep fans informed: “If there are any further updates on Nick I will let you all know in the live chat this coming Sunday.”
