Police say the man could assist with enquiries
Officers have released an image of a man they wish to speak to after a woman was sexually assaulted on a tram after a concert.
Police said a woman was sexually assaulted on a tram heading from the Etihad Campus towards the city centre on March 7.
They said it is believed that the man could assist with enquiries.
GMP said in a statement: “Police are appealing for information after we received reports that a woman was sexually assaulted on a tram on Friday 7 March 2025.
“It happened at around 11:30pm at the Etihad Campus inbound tram to Piccadilly Station after a concert.
“Extensive enquiries are underway, but we have released an image of a man who we would like to speak to as it’s believed he could assist with enquiries.”
PC Kelly, from the force’s Transport Unit, said: “The most important thing for all of us in Greater Manchester is the safety of everyone in our communities.
“We are treating this incident with the utmost sensitivity and severity, and I would like to reassure the public that we are working closely with our partners at TfGM to ensure additional TravelSafe officers are present on public transport to ensure everyone is safe and respectful.
“Our investigation is ongoing, and it’s important that anyone with information shares it with police.”
