34 of the properties will be affordable|
A developer has been given the go-ahead to build 76 homes on the former World of Pets site in Timperley.
Miller Homes is now set to start building the properties, including 34 affordable homes, on the Thorley Glade scheme on Thorley Lane.
It is estimated the remaining houses will have asking prices starting at £634,996. The scheme will feature three, four and five-bedroom family homes with open-plan kitchens and dining areas, home working spaces, gardens and off-road parking or garages.
All the private homes will have electric vehicle charging points and solar panels.
As part of a legal deal with Trafford council’s planning authority, known as a Section 106 agreement, Miller will contribute £298,190 towards local education provision and biodiversity improvements on the site
Thorley Glade is also subject to a £569,886 Community Infrastructure Levy to support local services.
Outline planning permission for 116 homes on the site was initially refused by Trafford’s planning committee, but that decision was reversed at appeal.
Planners have now granted permission for the scheme with fewer houses.
Clare Noakes, sales director for Miller Homes in the North West, said: “Securing planning approval for Thorley Glade is a key milestone for Miller Homes as we expand our presence in Greater Manchester.
“This development will not only provide high-quality, energy-efficient homes but also deliver significant benefits to the local community through infrastructure investment and affordable housing provision.”
