Costa-Gavras has the ninety-two years old and is still an elegant man and a filmmaker with a critical spirit. The director of ‘Z’, of ‘Missing’, ‘The Confession’, ‘Site’ state ‘and so many other films that have sought and rolled in the ins and outs of Politics and the world, premieres today ‘the last sigh’, in which it enters enormous lucidity and value in the thorny territory of the deathof acceptance or rejection when medical science can no longer fight the disease.

It raises its dilemmas and opinions Costa-Gavras, which has prepared the script from the book of Régis Debray and Claude Greege, and uses two characters to explain, a philosopher and an expert palliative doctor in confronting and accompanying patients for whom medicine no longer has a solution. The film is the juicy dialogue between these two characters and the dressing of a few cases that help clarify the confusion that exist between the so -called active euthanasia and the palliative care. The actor who plays the doctor, Kad Merad, provides the information and reflection in this way through his human character: the essential practice of medicine is healing, and when that is impossible, he finds another type of utility as a companion and comfort.

‘The last sigh’ is a suspicious film with euthanasia and very comprehensive and subtle with disease, pain, rejection, acceptance and humanity in the methods to cross naturally, without pushing but also without torments, the journey of life to death.

In addition to the seriousness and sense that Kad Merad gives his character and the irony with which Denis Podalydès plays his philosopher, appears as one of the ‘cases’ Ángela Molina, who fills with attractiveness, grace and gypsy topics his stretch of the film.
