Here’s what you need to know:
London is currently on track to be the hottest part of the UK next week
The UK is set some glorious sunshine next week, with temperatures set to reach 24C in parts of the country.
From Monday (April 28), we could experience highs of 22C, increasing by around one degree each day before reaching 24C in parts of the country by Thursday.
Tuesday and Wednesday, April 30 and May 1, are set to be the hottest day across most of the UK reaching high of 22C in Greater Manchester, Wales, and up to a whopping 24C in London.
The whole week is set to be warm and sunny, with the Met Office describing the conditions as “widely fine with sunny spells”, with a possibility that “very warm” weather could extend over several days across the country.
And the Met Office has shared that this upcoming spell of warm weather is uncharacteristic for this time of year. They shared on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Maximum temperatures inland could be as much as 10 degrees Celsius above the late April average by Tuesday.”
On top of that, the UK weather agency has warned of high pollen levels, primarily tree pollen. They shared on X: “Oak and Plane pollen levels are high in the south today and tomorrow with Birch trees producing most of the pollen further north.”
Multiple amber “high” pollen alerts have been issued across the UK this week including London and South East England, Wales, West Midlands and East Midlands.
When will the temperature reach 24C?
Greater London is set to reach 24C on Tuesday, April 29, and Wednesday, April 30, peaking at around 4pm. The following day, May 1, the temperature will drop by 1C to reach highs of 23C.
Other parts of the UK are set to reach the early 20s too, for example Leeds, West Yorkshire is set to reach 23C at its hottest on Tuesday, April 29, Newcastle upon Tyne is set to reach 21C at its peak, and most of Wales is set to peak at 22C.
