Good Morning Britain’s Richard Madeley halted Wednesday’s show to contact co-star Kate Garraway live on air.

During the latest instalment, Richard, 68, and co-host Susanna Reid spoke to Melvin Odoom to get the latest showbiz news.

As such, the trio spoke about the rumoured Celebrity Traitors line-up, which apparently includes co-star Kate, 57.

Melvin, 44, joked: “None of us have been able to get hold of Kate on the phone to confirm or deny this but I don’t know about you guys, but I’m very suspicious and it makes me even more suspicious.”

This prompted Susanna, 54, to comment: “She’ll make an excellent Traitor if we can’t even get hold of her!” with Melvin suggesting: “I think you need to send her a message right now!” to which Susanna pointed out: “She’ll neither confirm nor deny, I’m sure!” as Melvin declared: “Let’s do it anyway!”

As such, Richard took out his phone as he contacted Kate live on air to which Melvin asked: “Have you done it?” with Richard confirming: “Yeah…” as Melvin questioned: “Nothing yet?”

It comes as Kate has reportedly joined the cast of Celebrity Traitors, the BBC’s first celebrity edition of the popular reality series.

The 57-year-old is apparently set to appear alongside Stephen Fry, 67, and former England rugby player Joe Marler, 34, at Ardross Castle in Scotland.

Kate is no stranger to reality TV, having previously competed in I’m A Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here! in 2019, where she finished in fourth place. That series was won by EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa.

Other stars rumoured for the line-up include Charlotte Church, Bob Mortimer, Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross, Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed, Tom Daley, David Olusoga, Niko Omilana, Mark Bonnar, Joe Wilkinson, Tameka Empson, Clare Balding and Paloma Faith – to name a few.
