Here’s what you need to know:
Marcus Rashford departed Manchester United on loan in the January transfer window and has rediscovered some of his form at Aston Villa
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has admitted that Marcus Rashford and Ruben Amorim were right to part ways in the January transfer window.
Rashford left Old Trafford after being dropped from the United squad for the Manchester derby and failed to recover his place in the weeks that followed. It soon became clear that Rashford and Amorim’s relationship could not be repaired making his exit a necessity.
Since moving to Aston Villa, Rashford has been utilised mainly as a centre-forward and has impressed even though his statistics remain modest.
Tonight, his new manager Unai Emery has made the big decision to pick Rashford over Ollie Watkins and while discussing the duo, Neville admitted that United were right to let their academy graduate to leave.
“He is a good player. What he did at United, you could see he was a fantastic player,” the former United captain told Sky Sports.
“It had just gone wrong for him and he needed to go out. He went to a club with a better team and manager, he was likely to do better.
“Since he left, it has been desperate [at United]. He is doing okay, solid. He is seven out of 10, but there is another level for him to get to from where he was previously.
“He is doing a lot better than he was at United. If you asked him, he would think he would be ripping it up.
“He has had some sensational games here [the Etihad] for United.” It is currently unclear if Rashford will make his move to Villa Park permanent in the summer.
There is a £40m buy option included in the agreement between United and Villa. However, the West Midlands club can choose not to activate it if they feel they can either not afford it or they do not want to sign Rashford for another reason.
