Update: Man United loanee Antony sends three-word message as Real Betis make feelings clear News

The winger is on loan at Real Betis until the end of the season and is expected to return to Manchester United in the summer

Manchester United loanee Antony took to social media after returning to the scoresheet for Real Betis in their 3-1 La Liga win over Girona on Monday.

The Brazilian winger scored Betis’ second goal of the match, ending his run of seven games without a goal. It was the Brazilian’s third goal in 11 games.

Antony has enjoyed a change of scenery in Spain after struggling for game time under Ruben Amorim. He joined Betis on loan in the January transfer window until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old has started every game for Manuel Pellegrini’s side and has played a key role in helping them reach sixth place in the standings. However, prior to Monday, his last goal came against Real Sociedad in February.

He went on to provide an assist against Getafe in the following game, but hadn’t found the net since then.

Taking to Instagram after scoring at Girona, he shared some moments from the game along with the caption: “Another incredible night,” followed by a green heart emoji.

Betis also shared a picture of Antony and wrote: “G.O.A.T.”

MEN Sport understands that the agreement does not contain an option for Antony’s move to be made permanent this summer. This means he is due to return to Man United at the end of the six months.

However, if Betis wish to sign Antony on a permanent deal, they will have to enter new negotiations in the summer.

Pellegrini has already made his stance clear, however. “I see Antony very involved in the team, in the group, in the institution,” he said. “We would all be happy if he stayed, but now we have to focus on the present.”
