The National Cartoonists Society has announced nominees for its 2024 Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year aka: The Reuben Award.

Each year, the National Cartoonist Society honors excellence in our profession with Divisional Awards, special honors and lifetime achievement awards, and the Reuben Award for Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year. The nominees and recipient of this, our profession’s highest honor, are chosen by a confidential ballot of the members.
This year’s nominees:
- DAVE BLAZEK – Loose Parts
- TAUHID BONDIA – Crabgrass
- WILL HENRY – Wallace the Brave
- MARK PARISI – Off the Mark
- DANA SIMPSON – Phoebe and Her Unicorn
- MARK TATULLI – Lio, Desmond Puckett

The winner of the Reuben will be announced on August 15, 2025 at the Reuben Awards Banquet, part of the annual NCS Conference held this year in Boston.
