Will Arnett is producing a new animated series for the Canadian Streaming site Crave. The series is called “Super Team Canada”, a comedic series that parodies superhero stories. Super Team Canada features an entirely Canadian cast, with Kevin McDonald playing the Prime Minister of Canada, Cobie Smulders voicing a hero named Niagara Falls and Charles Demers playing Poutine, a Quebecois crime fighter. Other voice actors involved in this series include Brian Drummond as Sasquatchewan, a Sasquatch from Saskatchewan, Ceara Morgana as Chinook, a young Indigenous hero, Veena Sood as RCM-PC, a robotic police officer and Jay Baruchel in an unknown role.
Will Arnett voices Breakaway, a hockey-themed superhero who is the unofficial leader of Super Team Canada, despite being rather incompetent. This series is being produced by Arnett’s Electric Avenue and Thunderbird Entertainment’s Atomic Cartoons. The writers included Robert Cohen and Joel H. Cohen, who wrote the Big Bang theory. This series also has Bryan Adams writing and performing the theme song.
The producers describe this series as:
“With more action, heart, and hilarity than a Fredericton bonspiel, Super Team Canada follows six lesser-known and underrated Canadian superheroes, tasked with saving the world from giant evil robots, an unemployed octopus, and a seriously needy hardware store clerk. When the world’s other heroes are trapped and killed, these wanna-be benchwarmers become Earth’s last and most maple-syrup-powered hope.”

Will Arnett is not new to animation; in addition to his live-action roles in shows like ‘’Arrested Development”, he voiced Bojack in the series ‘’Bojack Horseman’’ and voiced a comedic take on Batman in the Warner Bros Lego movies. Super Team Canada is one of the latest additions in a long tradition of home-grown Canadian animation.
Super Team Canada is premiering on Crave on May 16, 2025, where the first two episodes will be released, and further episodes will be released every Friday. The first season of Super Team Canada will be 10 episodes long. There is currently no information as whether this show will air in the US.
