A woman has revealed how she managed to snag a designer T-shirt for a steal at a car boot sale.

However, she expressed concern that she may have been too cheeky with the seller as she haggled for an even bigger discount than was already offered.

TikToker Anna, known as @thesecondhandqueen on the platform, is renowned for her knack of finding great items at a fraction of their original price. Discussing one of her recent purchases, she queried her followers: “Was I mean to this woman at a car boot sale?

“I would have paid full price, but I literally didn’t have more cash […] Am I being sensitive, or was that a fair discount for a secondhand designer at a car boot sale?”

The seller had explained that she “wanted rid of everything” and had many items priced as low as £1.

When Anna picked up a T-shirt, the seller urged her to “check the label because it’s a good brand,” leading Anna to discover it was from ‘Billionaire Boys Club’.

Billionaire Boys Club is a popular American fashion label founded by Pharrell Williams and Nigo in 2003, based in New York City.

Some of its items carry hefty price tags, with T-shirts often selling for up to £85, hoodies exceeding £200, and jeans costing as much as £255 for certain designs.

Anna admitted she was “happy with £15,” as the seller had initially priced it at £35 but wanted to clear her stock. However, Anna only had £10 in cash remaining.

“I’ve literally only got £10 left on me. Could you do it for £10?” she inquired, with the seller countering for £12. Still, Anna stood her ground, saying: “I’m only doing it to be cheeky, if not, no worries”.

After ensuring that the seller was indeed comfortable with knocking down the price, a deal was struck. Grateful, Anna expressed her appreciation, “I appreciate that a lot, thank you,” as she snagged the designer tee for a tenner. The seller attempted to sell her additional items despite knowing Anna’s empty wallet situation.

In response to her video detailing the experience, people rallied around her in the comments section, offering words of support like: “Definitely wasn’t mean you were being truly honest with the lady. She could have easily said no to your £10 offer. It would have been a bargain purchase at £15 as well, to be fair.”

Another person praised her technique: “I used your ‘how much is the item next to the item I really want’ technique today. Freitag bag for $10 (£7.64), woohoo.”
