Despite Manchester United’s decision to withdraw their interest, Victor Osimhen is still keen on a move to the Premier League.

The 26-year-old Nigerian striker, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has been in impressive form this season, netting 28 goals in 32 appearances for the Turkish giants.

Osimhen, who previously led Napoli to the Serie A title in 2023, is free to leave the Italian club in the summer following a breakdown in relations. Despite Galatasaray’s desire to retain his services, there is no option to buy clause in their loan agreement, and Napoli are reportedly seeking a fee of around £55.5million for the forward.

However, Osimhen’s wage demands of approximately £9m per year exceed what United are prepared to offer. As a result, the club have shifted their focus towards Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap.

Despite United’s withdrawal, ESPN reports that Osimhen remains intent on securing a move to the Premier League. He is said to be open to either playing in England or joining Juventus, one of Napoli’s Serie A rivals.

In addition to United, both Chelsea and Arsenal have been linked with moves for Osimhen, as all three clubs have identified signing a striker as a top priority for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko are also on the radar, potentially making Juventus a more appealing prospect. Osimhen himself is unsure about his future, stating he wants to focus on the current season before making any decisions.

“At the moment I don’t know. Until a few months ago, no one would have even thought about Galatasaray, and many even thought I would leave in January. I personally live for the moment,” he recently expressed.

“I don’t know what will happen in the summer, but I can say that I am in love with these fans. I love this club, the president, the staff – I love everyone associated with Galatasaray. For me, it is truly a privilege to be here, and I am enjoying this experience.”

Abdullah Kavukcu, the vice president of Galatasaray, anticipates that Osimhen will make his intentions known sometime this month. He confirmed Gala’s interest in securing him on a permanent basis, but conceded they might be outmatched.

“Osimhen will announce his decision in April. At the moment, five of the world ‘s top clubs are interested in him. His arrival here was a dream – he came, and for now, he is playing with us. In January, there was talk of a transfer, but he stayed,” he disclosed to Sport Mediaset in March.

“He loves Galatasaray very much. Right now, he is the dream of all our rivals. Although we are focused on winning the title, we have not had direct discussions with Victor yet. There is no point in talking about it now. Galatasaray are a top-level club – if it weren’t, Victor wouldn’t have come. His stay at Galatasaray is not as impossible as it may seem.”
