The Sort Your Life Out host shared an update with fans after welcoming ‘new life’ into her family and Pickle Cottage home
Stacey Solomon has appeared emotional in the happier sense of the word as she shared an update with fans after welcoming ‘new life’ into her family and Pickle Cottage home.
The Loose Women star, who is currently opening up her life to the cameras with her husband Joe Swash in their own BBC reality series, took to social media last week to reveal chicks had started to hatch, much to her family’s delight.
Stacey previously told her loyal online following that she was preparing to welcome some new additions who will eventually reside in the sprawling grounds of her and Joe’s beloved family home.
Last month, she showed the process of building a shed in the woods surrounding her home and later explained what it was all for. Captioning the video, Stacey wrote: “Polish chickens coming to Pickle Cottage [face holding back tears emoji].”
The mum-of-five then explained in the video: “We are getting some chickens at Pickle Cottage, and I’m very excited. We’re actually going to hatch some chickens – some Polish chickens to be precise. We’re starting off with some Polish chickens mainly because they look like Hei Hei from Moana but also they’re supposed to be really good backyard chickens, really friendly, really fun and happy chickens.
“I just can’t stop at this point. We love our ducks so much and they bring us so much joy and I just want to fill the garden with animals and grow veg. That’s all I want to do with the rest of my days. It sounds really sad but I just feel so lucky. We always feel so lucky to have this space and I think, ‘Oh, what else can join us in here and enjoy it with us?'”
It was then just last week that Stacey confirmed the chicks had begun to arrive. Stacey uploaded an adorable video of her and her children watching the action happen and wrote on Instagram: “New life at pickle cottage… Honestly this has been the most special, core memory building day.
“Our chicks have started to hatch it’s like watching real life magic & I’m so glad we decided to do this. What a special day 4 chicks & counting. Come on babies… Happy Tuesday Everyone… I hope this brightens up your day. Thank you @sams_growingfood for helping us every single step of the way…”
The video showed four baby chicks hatching inside an incubator as the family watched on in awe. Belle and Rose squealed in excitement as the first of the feathered babies were born.
And now Rose couldn’t have appeared prouder as she held onto one of the chicks in Stacey’s recent updates. They were sitting on the sofa with their new arrivals as the Sort Your Life Out host said: “Most of our days have looked like this [crying laughing emoj].”
She then shared a video to her Instagram Story of her stroking one of the chicks in her hand as the others played around her and said: “Our little cheep cheeps [face holding back tears emoji]. We hatched five [heart emoji]. 3 yellow & 2 darker ones and they’re all so cute [face holding back tears emoji].”
Stacey and her husband Joe ive at their home – lovingly named Pickle Cottage – with their three shared children, Rex, five, Rose, three and two-year-old Belle, as well as Stacey’s older sons Zachary and Leighton from a previous relationship.
As mentioned, while Stacey often shares behind the scenes of her life at home on social media, the couple have now released their new BBC One series, Stacey & Joe, which gives fans the chance to see their every day family life.
