Sky Sports have taken down a clip of Thierry Henry analysing Manchester United’s 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United from their social media channels. The Magpies stormed past Ruben Amorim’s side at St. James’ Park on Sunday afternoon, with Harvey Barnes netting a 15-minute brace.

Sandro Tonali fired Newcastle ahead inside the opening half an hour before Alejandro Garnacho pulled one back. Barnes put the Magpies back into the lead shortly after the break before doubling his tally.

Bruno Guimarares later extended Newcastle’s advantage in Tyneside, securing three important points in the race for top four. While Eddie Howe’s side have their eyes set on Champions League qualification, United sit 14th in the Premier League.

Even if Amorim manages to win each of the remaining six games, the club will end the season with their worst-ever points tally in Premier League history. Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Henry singled out Leny Yoro.

The Arsenal legend encouraged viewers to watch the 19-year-old defender’s body language after Barnes’ second goal. Pulling no punches, Henry said: “I invite everyone to stay on Leny Yoro. First and foremost, he’s going to try to play offside.

“It’s a great finish from Barnes but please stay on Yoro and what he’s asking for… pause. I don’t know what he’s looking at. What are you looking at? Are you looking at the linesman to try to see if he’s going to bail you out? I don’t know.

“I don’t know if he thought there was an offside, I don’t know. We all know it’s a goal! What are you looking at?! I actually don’t know. I’ve never seen that before.”

Henry also noticed that Yoro didn’t track Barnes’ run earlier in the game. The 47-year-old said: “Diogo Dalot, I don’t know what he saw or what he thought was going to happen.

“Leny Yoro doesn’t go back and try and defend it, they’re second in everything, the desire was one Newcastle’s side. It’s just not good enough really.”

Sky Sports uploaded a clip of Henry’s brutal analysis to their Premier League page on X, formerly known as Twitter, but it wasn’t very well received by United supporters. The video was shortly taken down without notice.

Jamie Carragher was just as disappointed with United’s defending as the Arsenal legend. The former Liverpool defender said: “How bad are Manchester United? They lack everything, Manchester United.

“Harvey Barnes’ first touch, you’ve got two defenders before he gets to the goal and two defenders chasing him. If I tell you now he picks the ball up and he is going to score here and not be challenged, you can’t think that is possible at any level of football, if it was under-five young kids or Premier League.

“That is not acceptable to start in that position (where Barnes began) and finish there (in the box) without a challenge. We’re running out of things to say about them.”
