BBC Radio 2 star Rylan Clark told listeners he had just returned from filming season 2 of ‘Dating Naked UK’ before halting the show to share his affection for a co-star

Rylan Clark put his Radio 2 show “on hold” as he declared his “love” for BBC colleague Liza Tarbuck.

The former X Factor star told listeners he had recently returned from Miami where he was filming the second season of Dating Naked UK.

After interviewing Leanne Brown, lead singer of Sweet Female Attitude, the 36-year-old was delighted when he spotted his BBC Radio 2 colleague Liza in the studio.

The Celebrity Gogglebox star told viewers it was “rare” that he and Liza, who hosts the 6-8pm directly after Rylan’s, ever speak until 5.40pm.

Rylan said: “I was thinking last night, I was very, very tired, and I was like ‘at least I get to cuddle Liza tomorrow, she’ll give me a little cuddle’. I’m going to chat to you later but I had to just say hello to you now.”

Liza replied saying: “I tell you, I got dressed today thinking ‘oh good, he’s home’.” The 60-year-old said she hadn’t even greeted Sally Boazman, better known as ‘Sally Traffic’, before welcoming Rylan home, to which the Dating Naked UK host said: “That’s blasphemous.”

The pair ended their conversation by discussing Liza’s outfit, with the comedian stating that she was “embracing pattern”, before Rylan said he was “all about the block”.

Rylan said: “Oh I love you, look at her, I love her. I love her to bits. I’m sorry, but when Liz Tarbuck walks past the show gets put on hold, I’m just putting it out there.”

Last month, Rylan revealed to the Daily Star that the Paramount+ dating show would be getting a major revamp, with a string of twists to make it even more dramatic.

“There are going to be some big changes. It’s really exciting. The location is changing,” Rylan said.

“What we’ve got lined up is going to be brilliant. There will be lots of twists and turns.

“If the daters watched the first season and think they know how the show works, they’re wrong. We want to keep them on their toes. We don’t want them to know what’s coming next.”

Despite the show dividing opinion when it launched last year, it pulled in bumper viewing figures to become the biggest show on Paramount+.

Dating Naked UK sees 10 singletons looking for love in nothing but their birthday suits. The last series was filmed in Colombia, each episode features dates and an elimination round dubbed ‘The Dumping Ground’.
