Latest Manchester United news as Rasmus Hojlund continues his comedy social media posts in reaction to United’s win over Lyon

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has responded to Thursday night’s dramatic Europa League comeback against Lyon in bizarre fashion after Ruben Amorim’s men booked their spot in the semi-final.

United were close to exiting the competition after they threw away a two-goal lead in the space of seven minutes before conceding two more in extra-time.

Thousands decided to leave the stadium with Lyon winning 4-2 on the night, before Bruno Fernandes gave United a lifeline from the penalty spot. Kobbie Mainoo then levelled the tie on aggregate in the 120th minute before Harry Maguire completed the sensational comeback a minute later.

Players, coaching staff and supporters all celebrated on the pitch at Old Trafford after the latest historical night in Europe. Players have already taken to social media and Hojlund’s reaction is certainly different to your usual.

Posting three images of his celebrating United’s goals, he put: “When the road to a semi gives you a semi.” It’s the latest post on social media from the striker that has been different to your usual posts from footballers.

Earlier this season, he put: “I learned that hayvan is Beast in Turkish so only one post possible: meet the Hayvan of the Match,” after Altay Bayindir’s penalty heroics in the FA Cup against Arsenal.

After the Manchester derby win at the Etihad Stadium, he put: “Manchester is red, Violets are blue, What a brilliant performance, but the Oscar goes to..,” in reference to Kyle Walker’s play-acting as a result of an incident between the two.

A number of United players have already responded to Hojlund’s post. Joshua Zirkzee commented three laughing faces whilst Ayden Heaven posted a GIF saying ‘BRUH’. Ethan Wheatley added a laughing face whilst goalkeeper Andre Onana put a red heart emoji.
