Some customers did have a few constructive criticisms to add, though. “Since these are garden lights it’s disappointing that the plug is too large to be used in a standard garden IP rated plug socket (cover can’t be closed) and therefore can’t be left out in the rain. If Govee could have used a standard sized plug and then had an IP rated transformer further up the lead it would have worked better,” expresses one shopper.

Another left these words on the review page: “These work ok, but due to the design of the power adapter, these won’t fit in a standard UK outside socket. I had to buy an additional waterproof box with extension inside to be able to power them properly.” It’s worth checking your outdoor plug sockets are large enough to cater to the Govee lights before purchasing.
