Quick overview:
Our Yorkshire Farm star Reuben Owen, who now has his own show Life in the Dales, appeared on Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh
Reuben Owen has shared an update on his siblings, who found fame on the hit show Our Yorkshire Farm.
The 21-year-old farmer, now featuring in his own series Life in the Dales, appeared on Alan Titchmarsh’s Love Your Weekend to discuss his experiences growing up on the family farm.
Our Yorkshire Farm, which debuted in 2018, chronicled the lives of Clive and Amanda Owen and their nine children on a remote sheep farm in Yorkshire.
Amanda and Clive are parents to nine children: Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine, and Nancy.
The popular documentary series wrapped up in 2022 following Amanda and Clive’s separation.
Despite the conclusion of Our Yorkshire Farm, Amanda continues to grace television screens with appearances on programmes such as Amanda Owen’s Farming Lives and Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, and she also makes appearances in Reuben’s Life in the Dales.
In conversation with host Alan, 75, Reuben was asked about the current pursuits of his eight siblings since the documentary series ended, reports the Mirror.
During the interview, Alan inquired, “Now we need to catch up a bit, don’t we, is Raven still at uni?” to which Reuben confirmed, “Yeah, Raven’s at uni she’s getting towards the end of her time at uni and she’s working in the lab at the minute!”
Alan continued to probe about the rest of the family, asking, “And the other siblings?” to which Reuben revealed: “The other siblings, Miles is farming, he comes and drives diggers for us when he’s got a spare few hours!”
He added: “So Edith, she’s at college at the minute and Violet’s still at school. Sid, Annas, they’re still farming, Sid helps me a bit when he’s not at school, and the little ones are just causing havoc at home!”
Elsewhere in the conversation, Alan inquired: “Did it feel idyllic when you were growing up or were there times where it was… well it was obviously a hard graft at times I guess!”
With a touch of nostalgia tinged with good humour, Reuben replied: “It had its times where it was hard but overall an amazing place to live and grow up, I’ve had some great times there.”
Still, Reuben couldn’t help but playfully criticise the often dreary weather: “I think the worst thing about it is the weather!”
Yet, he confirmed: “Other than that, it was a brilliant place to grow up!”
Reflecting on his youthful stint in the spotlight and the constant buzz of film crews around, Reuben admitted: “I’ve kind of known it since I was very young and it’s brought all sorts of opportunities.
“So I’ve always kind of enjoyed doing it! It seems whenever anything goes wrong, a camera turns up!”
Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh continues on Sundays on ITV and ITV X.
