Here’s what you need to know:
The legendary actor has many of movie buffs’ favourite films
One of Brad Pitt’s most underrated movies is airing on TV tonight (Wednesday, April 23) for free across the UK.
The Hollywood star emerged as a household name back in 1991 when he appeared as a hitchhiker in Ridley Scott’s Thelma & Louise.
Pitt went on to become one of the industry’s biggest leading men in the 1990s, appearing in Legends of the Fall, Interview with the Vampire, Seven and Fight Club.
Heading into the 2000s, Pitt continued to cement his star status thanks to his work on Ocean’s Eleven, Mr and Mrs Smith, Burn After Reading and Inglorious Basterds.
Outside of World War Z, Fury and Ad Astra, Pitt tended to focus on supporting roles and producing movies in the 2010s.
However, that all changed when he landed his first Oscar in 2020 for his performance in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
After finally nabbing a golden statue with his second nomination, fans were curious to see how Pitt would follow up his achievement.
2022 action comedy film Bullet Train sees Pitt playing a hitman who ends up in conflict with a group of assassins on the JR Central Shinkansen.
Directed by Deadpool 2’s David Leitch, the film is full of thrilling action, big laughs and a story that keeps you guessing until the end.
The stacked ensemble cast features Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Hiroyuki Sanada, Michael Shannon, Benito A. Martínez Ocasio and Sandra Bullock.
Fans raced to the cinema in their droves to catch the feature, grossing almost $240 million at the worldwide box office.
Despite fans loving the film, critics were a tad harsh on Bullet Train, giving it a low score of just 53% on Rotten Tomatoes.
It remains unclear what fans didn’t like about the movie, with Pitt displaying the comedic chops and action skills they normally lap up.
While it might not be the most dramatic piece of cinema, there’s no point in denying yourself two hours of fun you’ll want to return to in no time.
Bullet Train airs on Wednesday, April 23, on Channel 4 and channel4.com at 9pm
