Here’s what you need to know:
Social media star Sophie Hinchcliffe had to rush her baby son Vinnie to A&E following her own recent health scare
Mrs Hinch has opened up to fans about her recent hospital dash with her newborn son, Vinne, before revealing his official diagnosis.
Sophie Hinchcliffe, better known as cleaning influencer Mrs Hinch, took to social media to inform her fans about her hospital visit as she took her baby boy to A&E earlier this week.
She has told how Vinnie, who was born in February, was diagnosed with reflux, cow’s milk protein allergy and Laryngomalacia, which is a floppy larynx (voice box), which can cause noisy breathing.
Sophie shared a string of photos of Vinnie in hospital on Friday (April 18) – including a snap of herself holding her baby son and pictures of Vinnie laying in a bed with a wire attached to his foot.
Sophie, who was recently rushed to hospital herself with a blood clot, also shared a video of her and Vinnie back at home with his older brothers Ronnie and Lennie, clearly looking happy to be reunited with their younger sibling.
In the caption, Sophie shared Vinnie’s recent health woes as she told her followers: “Hello Everyone, a little update from us having stayed in hospital this last week with Vinnie I am SO grateful we are now back home.
“Vinnies “reflux” journey is something I’ve never experienced before and my gut couldn’t settle on “it’s just reflux this will pass”. I ended up taking Vinnie to AandE, and after further examinations yes, Vinnie has reflux and CMPA but also Laryngomalacia.”
The mum-of-three continued: “This is a common congenital condition, present at birth, where the soft tissues of the voice box collapse inward during feeding. To finally have answers and knowing as parents that we are not going crazy feels more settling yet nerve wracking.
“I feel relieved that we have been listened to and a care plan is in place for Vinnie, which avoids any potential surgery if all goes to plan. We just need to ensure Vinnie gains weight over the next month and go from there. One feed at a time.”
She then candidly opened up about how she’s feeling, writing: “(Don’t get me wrong… I know just how blessed we are as a family, but It really seems to be one thing after another knocking us down this last year, and my nerves feel broken to say the least) But we keep going, we all do, we have to, because things will surely start to look up again soon”.
Mrs Hinch then ended her caption with a message to her fans, she wrote: “So Just a gentle reminder today …. Never give up on your instinct. You’re not silly, your gut knows Have a beautiful Easter weekend everyone”.
She then asked for any mums going through the same thing to reach out as she said: “(Ps For those also facing any of these cases, Laryngomalacia especially, It would be so reassuring hearing your story, thank you) xx”.
The Instagram star was quickly flooded with messages of support as fellow celebrity mum Georgia Kousoulou wrote: “Sending you lots of love ! So glad he is home”.
While a fan added: “Your gut will never let you down esp when it’s with your children! Hopefully now you can get some answers, support and enjoy your beautiful family x”. And a third penned: “You poor thing. So glad you are home and sending lots of love xxx”.
It comes after the new mum herself was rushed to hospital in March for emergency surgery after seeking a second opinion, having been sent home from hospital with a blood clot.
The 34-year-old first sought medical help after noticing disturbing symptoms and underwent a CT scan at a hospital. However, doctors initially dismissed her concerns, telling her there was no blood clot.
When her leg continued to swell, she decided to go to another hospital, where a second scan confirmed she had a significant clot in her groin, pelvis and leg that required urgent surgery.
