Martin Lewis has taken to social media to admit that he’s ‘gutted’ as the Celebrity Traitors line-up was reportedly revealed.

The money saving expert was one of the UK’s most famous faces who fans of the BBC series wanted to compete on the celebrity version of the show.

Presented by Claudia Winkleman, the series is set in a castle in the Scottish Highlands and the sees contestants appointed traitors and faithfuls.

With the faithful having no idea who the traitors are, a vote is held at the end of each episode to vote off the person they are most suspicious of before a murder takes place every night.

On Tuesday (April 22), The Mirror appeared to reveal the stars who will be taking part on the series, which will air in the autumn.

Among the stars reported to be competing is ITV presenter Kate Garraway, comic Alan Carr, talk show host Jonathan Ross, rugby player Joe Marler and Welsh singer Charlotte Welsh.

On top of those previously mentioned, YouTuber Niko Olamana, Line of Duty’s Mark Bonnar, Last One Laughing’s Joe Wilkinson, singer Paloma Faith and EastEnders Tameka Empson will be playing the game.

One person who wasn’t included in the latest report was Martin Lewis, who hosts The Martin Lewis Money Show and often appears on This Morning.

Taking to Instagram, Martin broke his silence about his frustrations at having to turn down the opportunity to take part in the Celebrity Traitors.

He wrote: “I’m no Traitor (sadly). I’ve got FOMO looking at the Celebrity Traitors line up. I was asked if I wanted to do it, but said no as I couldn’t commit the time.

“I hadn’t watched it then (but watched the last series after that & loved it) so now feel a little gutted – though I still don’t have the time. Sigh!!”

The comments section of Martin’s post saw his fans expressing their disappointment that he won’t be entering the castle and having their say on how they think he’d fare.
