Update: Marcus Rashford’s future takes fresh twist as new club ‘monitoring’ Manchester United star News

The latest Man Utd news and transfer rumours amid speculation on Marcus Rashford’s long-term future.

Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford is reportedly a transfer target for Crystal Palace this summer.

The Manchester Evening News understands United are looking to part ways with at least ten players this summer as Ruben Amorim eyes up a major rebuild of his squad. Rashford, 27, is one of those players expected to leave with Aston Villa thought to be keen on making his loan switch a permanent one.

Rashford moved to Villa during the January transfer window and has since made 14 appearances for the club – scoring three goals and bagging five assists in the process. It is widely understood that while Villa are happy to keep Rashford beyond this season, they are not currently in a position to commit to him.

It is said that Villa are waiting to see if they qualify for the Champions League next term before green lighting a move for a player that will cost considerable amounts of money. With his future up in the air, The Sun on Sunday reports that Palace are keen on swooping for Rashford.

They report that Palace are closely monitoring Rashford’s situation at Villa in case Unai Emery is unable to snap-up the 62-cap England forward during the summer transfer window. It is believed that Palace are fully-aware they will need to keep hold of their best players to persuade Rashford to join.

But, they add that there is a good feeling around Selhurst Park under Oliver Glasner and that would make 12th-placed Palace an attractive home for Rashford. It is thought a £40m bid will be enough to secure the services of Rashford after an option to buy was inserted in the loan agreement between United and Villa.

Palace can still qualify for Europe next season and will make it into the Europa League if they win the FA Cup. The Eagles are viewed as the underdogs heading into the semi-finals where they shall face Rashford’s Villa at Wembley Stadium, incidentally.
