Manchester United are three games away from securing Champions League football next season and winning silverware in what has been a difficult season for the club.

Ruben Amorim admitted following United’s heroic comeback against Lyon last week that his focus is on the Europa League and he ‘will now play the kids in the Premier League.’ With the Red’s having nothing to play for domestically, aside from increased prize money, it is understandable why Amorim’s focus lies elswhere.

Their semi-finals opponent Athletic Bilbao are in a different situation. Although the Spanish side currently occupy fourth place in La Liga and sit in a Champions League spot, there is only a six point gap to sixth placed Real Betis. This means they cannot afford to take their foot off the gas.

With this in mind, Manchester Evening News have compared United’s and Bilbao’s fixtures along with other potential finalists Tottenham and Bodo/Glimt.
