Here’s what you need to know:
There have been major changes at Old Trafford in the last 12 months and another medical staff member is leaving.
Jim Moxon is leaving his role as Manchester United’s first-team doctor to join Brighton.
Moxon departed his role with Liverpool to join United. He began work at the beginning of 2023, initially on a temporary basis before being made a permanent member of first-team staff.
It’s understood Moxon is leaving to become the No.1 first-team doctor at Brighton.
Moxon served in the position of second first-team doctor at United. He is currently serving a notice period and is expected to formally move to the Amex Stadium at the end of the season.
A recruiter for United wrote on LinkedIn: “Following the announcement that the brilliant Jim Moxon will be leaving us at the end of the season, we are now recruiting a first-team doctor to join our medical team here at Manchester United. This is a great opportunity to become part of a world-class team and play a key role in delivering elite medical care to our first-team players.”
Moxon decided to leave United and his departure is unrelated to club-wide mass redundancies.
The news of Moxon’s exit comes after it emerged the head of medical services, Gary O’Driscoll, is set to leave. O’Driscoll joined from Arsenal in September 2023 and has spent just 18 months in the role.
Moxon and O’Driscoll are well respected and the latter’s exit is believed to be his choice, too.
First-team physio David Binningsley is also leaving and Harry Maguire has thanked him for his service.
