Quick overview:
The Premier League has confirmed the broadcast selections for the penultimate weekend of the season.
Manchester United’s trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea next month has been rearranged following the latest broadcast selections.
Originally scheduled to travel to the capital to lock horns with Enzo Maresca’s side on Sunday, May 18, United will now make the journey south on Friday, May 16, for an 8pm kick-off. The contest has been selected to be shown live on Sky Sports.
The clash with the Blues has also been brought forward because of the Women’s FA Cup final taking place at Wembley on Sunday, May 18, with United taking on Chelsea.
Marc Skinner’s side progressed to a third successive FA Cup final last weekend after beating rivals Manchester City 2-0. The final will kick-off at 1.30pm.
It means United’s clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge will be the opening fixture of the penultimate round of the Premier League season, with eight of the nine remaining matches taking place on the same day as the Women’s FA Cup final. The men’s FA Cup final is on Saturday, May 17.
Liverpool will take on Brighton & Hove Albion in the concluding fixture of the Premier League weekend at the Amex Stadium on Monday, May 19.
City, meanwhile, will now face Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, May 18, kick-off 7pm – but only if they fail to reach the FA Cup final.
Pep Guardiola’s side face Nottingham Forest in their semi-final clash at Wembley in just over a week’s time and progression to a third successive final will result in their clash with the Cherries having to be rearranged.
If City are beaten by Forest and the clash with Bournemouth goes ahead as currently planned, it will be shown live on Sky Sports.
