On Sunday (April 27), Manchester will see thousands hit the city’s streets as they take part in this year’s marathon.

For the event, Manchester’s streets will be hit with a stream of colour as a total of 36,000 racegoers in different coloured bibs pound the pavement.

These coloured bibs – which runners should receive in their participant packs – will indicate what time each participant should begin the marathon.

Male and female elite racers will be the first to step over the starting line, alongside White Bib participants. This group will feature 2024 winner Adam Clarke and second place runner Melissah Gibson.

Each wave of runners will set off in ten minute intervals, until the last wave of runners join the race at 11.30am.

Runners taking part in the 2025 marathon should take note of their unique bib colour to ensure that they join the race at the correct time.

Spectators can head to a number of vantage points and dedicated stations across the route on Sunday. Dedicated stations intended to give runners an extra boost include Deansgate Interchange, Hulme, Stretford, Sale, Altrincham, and Chorlton-cum-Hardy.

Finish times will also appear on the Manchester Marathon website for each runner after they complete the course.

Organisers have said results are likely to appear on the website 45 minutes after an individual finishes the race.
