Here’s what you need to know:
Manchester United were humbled at Newcastle after a heavy defeat in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon
Manchester United are turning their attention to the next five fixtures after an embarrassing defeat at Newcastle in the Premier League.
Sandro Tonali’s quality strike opened the scoring for the hosts but they were pegged back by Alejandro Garnacho just before the interval. After working so hard to get back into the game, United chucked it away in the second half.
Harvey Barnes bagged his team’s second with a close range finish before dancing through the United defence to make it 3-1. Bruno Guimaraes was gifted the Magpies’ fourth on what was a very bad afternoon for the Reds.
With that match quickly and quitely resigned to the history books, MEN Sport has taken a look at their next five fixtures compared to their rivals.
United’s next five fixtures
April 17 vs Lyon (H) at 8pm – Europa League QF
April 20 vs Wolves (H) at 2pm – Premier League
April 27 vs Bournemouth (A) at 2pm – Premier League
May 4 vs Brentford (A) at 2pm – Premier League
May 10 vs West Ham (H) at 3pm – Premier League
What MEN Sport says: There is only one match here that matters and that is this Thursday’s clash with Lyon. Progression in the Europa League would make up for the tepid display at Newcastle and while winning the competition won’t fix every problem, it would be a welcome financial relief for Ineos. The four games afterward will all be about saving face. They will arguably be favourites to beat Wolves and West Ham but the trips to Bournemouth and Brentford look set to be tough. Perhaps that is a measure of how far United have fallen.
Everton’s next five fixtures
April 19 vs Manchester City (H) at 3pm – Premier League
April 26 vs Chelsea (A) at 12.30pm – Premier League

May 18 vs Southampton (H) at 3pm – Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur’s next five fixtures
