Manchester United return to action on Thursday evening away at Lyon (8pm kick-off).

Ruben Amorim’s side drew 0-0 against rivals Manchester City last time out in a drab derby at Old Trafford. United’s focus will now shift to their huge Europa League quarterfinal first-leg clash at the Groupama Stadium on Thursday. Amorim’s men will be aware that their only chance of securing European football in M16 next season lies in winning Europe’s second-tier competition in Bilbao on May 21.

And the Reds are likely to have one eye on the summer transfer window, with another potential rebuild on the way. Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap has been the latest player to be linked with a move to M16.

With all that said, bellow are the latest media reports surrounding United as well as a view on each one…

Delap view

Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Liam Delap to snub a move to Manchester United this summer in favour of West Ham.

“I’d take him over what they’ve (Man United) got,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.

“He’s better than Hojlund, better than Zirkzee but if I’m Delap, well I’d tell him not to go there. It’s still negative there at Man United. Anyone who goes there bar (Bruno) Fernandes has been a disappointment in recent years.

“I would go to a different club, why not go to Arsenal? I could see him at Arsenal I really could.

“But has he done enough yet to warrant signing for a team that’s competing for the Premier League title? I don’t know.

“Does he take a step in-between that, you know like a West Ham. They need a striker in the summer, (Evan) Ferguson is only loan isn’t he, so maybe a West Ham might suit him better. But I do really rate him.”

Isaac Seelochan of The Manchester Evening News says: “It’s baffling to suggest that Delap should choose West Ham over Man United even if the Reds are currently struggling. Snubbing a move to Old Trafford in favour of a switch to Arsenal would be understandable, but the Hammers is a bizarre suggestion.”

Osimhen concern

Italian news site TuttoMercatoWeb claims that Juventus are turning away from Man United-linked Victor Osimhen and are instead looking at a deal for Ademola Lookman. It is said that Juve are concerned that Osimhen’s wage demands could be too expensive.

Isaac Seelochan of The Manchester Evening News says: “If true, United could see this as a dream boost with a rival withdrawing their interest in a deal. However, Osimhen’s supposed wage demands are not exactly going to be attractive to the Reds either in their current financial state.”
