The City goalkeeper was taken off against the Eagles to compound City’s injury issues

Ederson was taken off in Manchester City’s win over Crystal Palace to add to their injury problems.

The Brazilian looked to suffer a groin injury in the 70th minute of their comeback victory and was swiftly replaced by Stefan Ortega.

It had been a topsy-turvy game for Ederson before his injury. He was culpable for the opening two goals as City defended horribly to gift Palace the advantage and put their hopes of Champions League football in jeopardy.

James McAtee then scored a fourth when he latched onto an Ederson ball over the top and rounded Dean Henderson.It was Ederson’s fourth assist of the season, breaking his own Premier League record. Only Savinho and Kevin De Bruyne have more than him in the competition for the campaign.But he may not get more as the extent of his injury is assessed. Ederson becomes the seventh City player to be absent through injury as Guardiola continues to operate without a number of his key players.Phil Foden was ruled out of the Palace game with the knock he picked up in the Manchester derby. Nathan Ake, John Stones, Manu Akanji, Erling Haaland and Rodri are all still missing.
