Rochdale Road was shut for several hours

A man suffered life-changing injuries following a horror crash in north Manchester.

Emergency services were called out to Rochdale Road, near to Boggart Hole Clough, at 2pm on Thursday afternoon (April 11).

It followed a crash involving a motorbike, which two men were riding, and a van.

An air ambulance was seen landing on David Lewis Recreation Ground, in Blackley, while two road ambulances also attended.

In an update issued this morning (April 11), Greater Manchester Police confirmed that one of the men on the motorbike – a 24-year-old – suffered life-changing injuries following the crash.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Rochdale Road was closed for several hours into Thursday evening as emergency services worked at the scene, with a number of bus services diverted from the scene.

The closure stretched between the junctions of Parkmount Road and Old Road, in Blackley.

Rochdale Road reopened at around 9pm, following collision investigation work.
