A popular Love Island couple have announced their breakup two years are competing on the ITV dating show.

The news arrives just months after Strictly star Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page called it quits three years following their stint on the show.

On Friday evening (April 18), Lochan Nowacki broke the news that he and Whitney Adebayo are no longer together.

The pair met on the 2023 edition of Love Island, pairing up with each other days after Lochan made his entrance as a bombshell.

Winning the hearts of viewers, Lochan and Whitney finished in second place in the final which was won by Jess Harding and Sammy Root.

Since leaving the villa, the pair have continuously been posting each other on social media and bringing their followers inside their relationship.

Sadly on Friday evening, Lochan said they would be ‘forever grateful’ for fans’ support as he confirmed the heartbreaking news.

He posted on his Instagram story: “Hey guys, unfortunately Whitney and I’s relationship has come to an end.

“Thank you for all the love and support that you’ve show us through our journey, we’re forever grateful.”

Whitney soon posted the same message, outside of swapping out her name for Lochan’s to clarify the situation.

The breakup arrives just weeks after Whitney opened up about the abuse she received online after appearing on the Sidemen’s Netflix reality show Inside.

Airing on streaming site Netflix, the series followed 10 influencers and celebrities who compete in challenges to secure a £1 million prize fund.

With each decision they made costing money from the prize pot, streamers Cinna, PK Humble and Mya Mills split £97,891 between them in the final.

Sharing screenshots of some of the messages she received, Whitney said: “I’ve received a mix of reactions – some positive, some negative,” she noted. “But what I’ve encountered more than anything is the reality of racism.

“I understand that being in the spotlight [brings] criticism, but what I’ve experienced the past few days goes beyond criticism. This evil, hatred and pure racism and should not be tolerated.”

She added: “This isn’t just about a TV show; it’s about the way society can sometimes respond to women like me, women who may stand out or don’t fit a certain mold [sic] of being cute and mute.

“For those of you who have supported me, thank you. Your love and encouragement keep me grounded.

“To those who have tried to tear me down, I want to remind you: your hate doesn’t define me. It only fuels my determination to grow and to be unapologetically myself.”
