Here’s what you need to know:

Man Utd suffered their 15th defeat of the Premier League season as Ruben Amorim’s much-changed side were beaten by Wolves at Old Trafford.

Tyler Fredricson enjoyed a solid United debut against Wolves

Manchester United were beaten 1-0 by Wolves at Old Trafford as Pablo Sarabia’s second-half free-kick proved the difference between the two teams.

After the drama of Thursday night’s epic Europa League win against Lyon, this was always set up to be a more low-key affair. The five changes made by Ruben Amorim showed his focus is now switching almost exclusively to Europe.

There was barely a chance of note in the first half but United started to edge the game and on the balance of play deserved something more than their 15th defeat of the Premier League campaign.

Rasmus Hojlund endured another afternoon of frustration in front of goal and substitutes Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount both wasted excellent chances after coming on.

Here are the moments you might have missed from Sunday’s defeat:

Fredricson’s Old Trafford moment

Amorim had explained the risk of blooding youngsters in a team as unstable as United’s earlier this week, but he still opted to throw in 20-year-old Tyler Fredricson for his debut against Wolves. Making his first appearance of any kind in senior football, the centre-back had an assured start to his career.

His best moment came just after the midway point in the first half when, when he stepped up to challenge a surprised Matheus Cunha, leaving the Brazilian in a heap on the floor and regaining possession for his own team.

It was the kind of confidence boosting moment that can really settle a debutant down and Fredricson looked comfortable from that challenge on. It was also a bruising experience for Cunha, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford but never stamped his class on this contest.

Fredricson also got an acknowledgement from Jorgen Strand Larsen when the Wolves striker went off after 74 minutes. The in-form frontman never really got a look-in and he showed his class by patting the young defender as he went off the pitch, saluting his performance on his debut.

A hero’s reception

The loudest Old Trafford got in the first half was when Harry Maguire jogged down the touchline towards the Stretford End to begin his first warm-up of the afternoon. A thunderous ovation went up, followed by a chant of ‘Oh, Harry Maguire’.

The centre-back was the hero of the hour on Thursday. Rested on Sunday, he still got the acclaim he deserved for playing his part in a game that will go down in Old Trafford folklore.

There was also a chant for Casemiro, warming up at the same time as Maguire. The midfielder played a big part on Thursday as well, winning the penalty and then setting up the goals for Kobbie Mainoo and Maguire.

Protests

Barely a game goes by without some form of protest at Old Trafford these days and the 500 or so supporters that face seeing their season tickets moved from around the dugouts made their point on Sunday.

One fan held up a cardboard placard reading ‘Save our seats’ and another had a bedsheet with ‘Tourists over fans’ on. There were five or six banners raised right in front of the directors’ box, including one with the message ‘Sir Jim, you know the price of everything and the value of anything’.

Another accused Ratcliffe of ripping the soul out of the club and those sitting in the posh seats would have certainly got the message.
