Rightmove users were left baffled by the ‘unexpected’ addition to the home

House hunters were left saying ‘I wasn’t expecting that’ after spotting an unlikely feature in a four-bed house. Anyone who has searched for a home on Rightmove may have come across some of the weird and wonderful properties that are up for sale.

From super tiny houses to toilets in strange places and hidden rooms, nothing goes unnoticed on the property site. A house that is up for sale in Tamworth, Staffordshire has recently attracted attention on Reddit.

The four-bed detached house, which is on the market for £499,950, looks like an ordinary home from the outside. Stepping inside, it has an entrance hall spacious living room and an open-plan kitchen dining and living area on the ground floor.

Upstairs there are four bedrooms off the landing, with the master bedroom including a dressing area and an en-suite.

Wilkins Estate Agents, who are marketing the property says: “We are delighted to bring to market this immaculately presented four bedroom detached property within the ever-popular Amington location in Tamworth.

“The property benefits from being within close proximity to fantastic local schools in Tamworth as well as being a stones throw away from local amenities and excellent transport links such as Tamworth Train Station and the A5. This property would make an exceptional family home.”

However, to the surprise of many Reddit users, the home boasts an outdoor swimming pool in its garden – a rare sight for UK homes especially ones of this price.

In the subreddit ‘SpottedonRightmove’, one Reddit user @Rose-RoseGarden shared the listing and wrote: “I wasn’t expecting the pool.”

One Reddit user commented: “Love island villa garden in Tamworth,” whilst another said: That’s like if I left my 10yo playing the Sims for the entire Easter holidays,” as a third Reddit user @ChaosControl- added: “Did not expect that to be in Tamworth.”

@DanS1993 wrote: “An uncovered outdoor pool in this climate, in this economy,” as @HotAirBalloonPolice said: “They are going for LA megamansion vibes….but in Tamworth.”

Addressing the garden and pool, the Rightmove listing says: “Round to the rear of the property, there is a well sized low maintenance rear garden, featuring a sitting area, offering a great space for garden furniture which surrounds a firepit situated centre stage.

“There is also a further private seating area to the rear, as well as a bespoke swimming pool, enclosed with timber fencing and decorated with several plants and flower beds.”

But some Reddit users picked up on the garden being described as ‘low maintenance’.

@IndefiniteLouse wrote: “‘Low maintenance back garden’ – that just so happens to feature a swimming pool…,” as @RacheldeVries echoed: “‘Wonderful low maintenance rear garden’ – it has a pool!!! That’s not low maintenance.”

@Ok_Young1709 also noted: “Not sure I’d class the garden as low maintenance, a pool is very high maintenance.”

Despite the criticism, @dyedinthewoolScot praised: “That is stunning for the money. Elsewhere it would be much more. The pool is a choice for the location tho,” as @Otherwise_Living_158 added: “That outdoor space is amazing.”
