Helen Flanagan has been flooded with messages of support as she emotionally adressed her finances as she denies reports suggesting why she is really selling her family home.

The actress recently shared her sadness as she prepares to leave her family home, almost three years after her split from her ex-fiance Scott Sinclair.

Fans will know the actress shares three children – Matilda, Delilah and Charlie – with her footballer ex and the former couple split in 2022 after 13 years together.

They have since been juggling co-parenting their children while living at opposite ends of the country. But Helen, 34, announced recently that she’s in the process of leaving her home in Bolton after getting the property four years ago.

She had initially lived in the eight-bedroom house with Scott, 36, and their three children, prior to their separation, but has said it’s been “really hard to keep on top of” such a large space.

Speaking on the Declutter Hub Podcast, Helen said: “It actually makes me sad that I’m gonna be leaving this house soon because I actually put so much effort into it… I put like a lot of my savings into like doing the house up and stuff, and making it look really beautiful.”

She said that it’s a “big house” which has formed part of her decision to leave as she explained: “It’s an eight bedroomed house which is obviously really hard to keep on top of. I mean, I feel really lucky to to live here – well, soon to have lived here – because it is gorgeous but it’s a lot to like keep on top of.”

However, some suggested it was down to money that Helen had decided to sell, which she has categorically denied in a new video. Taking to Instagram, the former Coronation Street star was emotional as she spoke on the topic.

She denied being “skint” or “broke”, like some had been suggesting, as she hit back: “I’m actually not, but it’s, it’s not a nice thing at all.” She continued: “I have lost a lot of money, but I don’t owe anybody a penny. I could hold my head up high.

“I don’t owe HMRC any money. I pay my taxes. I’m a good person. I have good morals. I’ve always paid my taxes. I am not in any debt. You know which? That’s great. And I, you know, which I’m lucky to be in that position.”

Helen explained that the negative reports about her financia situation had taken a hit on her mental health. She revealed: “I read this article. I was in Inverness. I took my little one to Loch Ness, and I read this article just about before I was about to go into the boat.

“And honestly, honestly, I wanted to be like, dumped in, like, you know, a loch, like a little island of the loch somewhere, and just stay there, basically, because it’s just really humiliating.”

Helen went on to reveal in her candid video that she had suffered a break in at her house, which has led to her to struggle with sleep. Defending her own character, Helen went on to say that she would never resort to bullying herself, and feels she could hold her head high as a decent and good person even if she was “skint” one day.

She then went on to explain that she had at one point felt that she “wouldn’t have been here” if she didn’t have her three children to care for. Ending on a more positive note, Helen shared that she was looking forward to letting her hair down on a night out with her pals.

Showing off the gorgeous outfit she wore on Saturday night, a black dress with, a silver plunging neckline, she said: “I’m gonna go out tonight. I’m gonna have a few drinks, and I’m so excited… I hope everyone has a little Easter. And, yeah, you shall like to come on, more positive things.”

The messages of love and support soon came flooding in. @girliewardrobe said: “You don’t have to justify yourself , you are a genuine lovely person, keep being you.” @oh_carolina78 wrote: “All jealousy what ever people say. Your a stunning girl take no notice.”

@millsy1306 commented: “Just ignore the haters. Sounds like you in a good place financially. Worry about you the kids and significant others. The rest will come and go.” @gailtaylor3355 replied: “Just keep being yourself and ignore the hater’s that don’t have a life.” @adele.ward.9862 added: “Just ignore people will always be jelous you do you with your beautifull family.”
