A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder
A woman who died after being stabbed inside a block of flats has been named locally as Rebekah Campbell, with tributes pouring in memory of her.
Police were called to Knowsley Heights, Huyton, Merseyside, at around 10.30pm on Tuesday (April 15) to a report that a woman had been stabbed following a ‘domestic incident’.
Officers attended and gave the victim first aid until paramedics arrived. Rebekah was rushed to hospital, where she died from her injuries, the ECHO reports.

A series of heartbreaking tributes have been shared on social media from Rebekah’s loved ones who described her as a “beautiful, caring” woman who “loved being around her family and friends”.
Lauren Groves wrote: “Wow I cannot believe what am reading RIP Rebekah Louise fly high thinking of all your family at this devastating time. We will meet again one day.”
Chelsea Campbell said: “Until we meet again our queen. Always look up to you even while you’re not here.” Antonia Evans said: “Forever young our beautiful girl, I will love and miss you forever.”
Lisa Sillitoe said: “Heartbroken RIP Becky such a beautiful, caring girl. I can’t believe this has happened to you. Heartbroken. Thinking of all your family at this devastating time RIP angel.”
Nadine Henderson said: “My heart is broken for my sister and Rebekah Louise, mum and her brother and all her family. RIP Becky.”
Natalia Louise Aesthetics said: “Can’t stop thinking about our beautiful friend Rebekah Louise and all her family and friends, and her cousins who she absolutely adored. Becky was always a family girl and always loved being around her family and friends there was never a dull moment with her.
“She made everyone feel comfortable. Her smile lit up any room she walked into, she was just full of life. She loved a good dance and sing song on the karaoke. Becky you are so loved by everyone and we are all going to miss you so much, it doesn’t seem real. You will never be forgotten, everyone is broken.”
A 34-year-old man from Litherland was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody for questioning while investigations are carried out.
A cordon remained in place outside the entrance of Knowsley Heights on Wednesday afternoon, and police divers could be seen searching part of the Leeds to Liverpool Canal in Litherland in connection with the investigation.
Police said they are not looking for anyone else but are still appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Ben Dyer said: “This was a tragic incident in which a woman has sadly lost her life and specially trained officers are supporting her family. An investigation is underway, which is in the very early stages as we seek to establish exactly what has happened.
“Patrols have been stepped up in the area to provide reassurance for the community and officers continue to make CCTV and witness enquiries. If you live in the area and have any concerns, please speak with officers.
“Although we have already made an arrest, we are still appealing for anyone with information to come forward. If you live in the area and saw or heard anything suspicious last night, please get in touch as a matter of urgency.”
