Gemma Atkinson has shared an insight into how she and Gorka Marquez ‘work’ after they ditched the UK together for a sun-soaked family break.

The couple are no strangers to having to spend chunks of time away from each other due to their busy careers, with Gemma a co-host on Hits Radio and Gorka a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing.

But Gorka has recently been away from his family and their Greater Manchester home as he was touring the country with Strictly co-star Karen Hauer in their own headline tour, Speakeasy.

Their first show in February at the Perth Concert Hall was to a rapturous reception, marking the highly anticipated start of their biggest-ever UK tour, with a whopping 41 dates.

Gorka and Karen then wrapped up their epic tour with an amazing milestone as they performed their Speakeasy show on a West End stage.

But Gorka didn’t take much time to rest after celebrating the special occasion as he was soon revealed to be at the airport and was jumping on a plane to sunnier climes to be reunited with Gemma and their two children – Mia and Thiago – on their Easter holiday.

Sharing a cosy selfie of the pair, Gemma wrote on Instagram: “He’s arrived. Reunited after 3wks [face surrounded by hearts emoji] @gorka_marquez.”

Now, Gemma has shared a fresh post in which she could be seen spending some quiet time with her beau, who she met on Strictly back in 2017.

Alongisde the loved-up photos, which she shared with her 2.1 million followers on Instagram: “Yesterday, one of us ran 19km through the mountains. The other ate so much bread, pasta and red velvet cake they spent an hour on the loo in agony before bed.”

She added: “That’s why we work. It’s all about balance! Yin & Yang @gorka_marquez.” But Gorka took to the comments section to admit: “I crawled the last km in this heat.”
