Gemma Atkinson has reunited with Gorka Marquez as they ditched the UK for some quality time together after revealing how long they’ve really been apart.

The couple are no strangers to having to spend chunks of time away from each other due to their busy careers, with Gemma a co-host on Hits Radio and Gorka a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing.

Fans weill be aware that Gorka has recently been away from his family and their Greater Manchester home as he has recently been touring the country with Strictly co-star Karen Hauer.

The duo dance partners away from the BBC One dance contest’s ballroom and it was earlier this month that the pair returned to the stage together following a break from their Firedance shows last year after two years of touring together in a row.

Their first show in February at the Perth Concert Hall was to a rapturous reception, marking the highly anticipated start of their biggest-ever UK tour, with a whopping 41 dates.

The fabulous show’s aim was to transport audiences through the decades in an electrifying celebration of iconic dance styles, immersive storytelling, and stunning choreography, all set against the vibrant backdrop of the roaring 1920s through to the disco era of the 1970s.

But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end and Gorka and Karen wrapped up their epic tour with an amazing milestone as they performed their Speakeasy show on a West End stage.

Ahead of the show on Tuesday evening (April 15), Gorka took to Instagram and said: “One last time. Excited. Grateful. Thank you to everyone who came to watch @speakeasytheshow. THANK YOU. Dale chamina @karenhauer.”

Following the show, Gorka reshared his previous post to his Instagram Story and simply said: “NO WORDS. THANK YOU,” alongside a red heart emoji.

And he was quick to reshared the videos of support from his and Karen’s Strictly co-stars who were in the audience to watch the pair, including Nadiya Bychkova who seemingly captured an emotional on-stage moment for Gorka and Karen as they took in the rapturous reception.

Alongside the post, Nadiya wrote: “What a special moment [face holding back tears emoji].” She shared a secondary post, alongside which she wrote: “So much talent on one stage [face holding back tears emoji]. What a night. Congratulations @karenhauer @gorka_marquez @speakeasytheshow cast and everyone involved.”

But Gorka didn’t take much time to rest as early on Wednesday morning (April 16) he was at the airport and jumping on a plane to sunnier climes to be reunited with Gemma and their two children – Mia and Thiago – on their Easter holiday.

Sharing a cosy selfie of the pair, Gemma wrote on Instagram: “He’s arrived. Reunited after 3wks [face surrounded by hearts emoji] @gorka_marquez.”
