Gabby Logan revealed an unfortunate incident at a party in her house left her husband cleaning up blood and a guest being rushed to hospital after ‘lifesaving intervention’

Gabby Logan’s husband Kenny was left “hosing down blood” after a guest had to be rushed to hospital following a horrific moment at her birthday party.

The BBC Sport presenter revealed the guest stepped on a glass of wine as they left the toilet at her 50th birthday party. The shard of glass cut their “main artery” forcing them to be taken to hospital.

Gabby, who was unaware of the unfolding drama, said she continued to “get smashed” at the bash. However, the star revealed she eventually spotted husband Kenny “hosing down blood” from their garden, reports Wales Online.

The 51-year-old made the revelation on the We’re Not Getting Any Younger podcast after host Andy Goldstein asked when Gabby “last got smashed”. She replied: “My 50th I was on the way, I had a party and then a really good friend of ours had a bad accident.

“He came out of the portable toilets and somebody had left a wine glass and he stood on it, and it hit a main artery. He had to go to the hospital.

“Everybody tried to keep it from me. So I was busy getting smashed and having a great time and then I look over and Kenny is hosing blood down.

“It started in the middle of the afternoon so this was only 8pm. It was literally mid-summer’s night so it was still bright.

“Next thing I could see, a really good friend of ours who is an amazing physio is over in a certain part of the garden, then there’s a few other people. Long story short, he ends up having to go to hospital and having really good people there probably saved his life because the blood was coming out at an angle.”

Fitness fanatic Gabby admits her drinking habits have changed over the years, and that she no longer drinks “in the way she would have 25 years ago”

However, Gabby says there is one moment in particular she enjoys a drink. She said: “You know what I like, a gin and tonic when I’m cooking, I don’t actually want it afterwards as much, I want it when I’m cooking for some reason.”

Gabby, whose father Terry Yorath has battled with alcoholism, has previously revealed she is incredibly conscious about her relationship with alcohol. She says she would instantly know when son Reuben, a professional rugby player, has had beer.

Speaking to Matt Willis on the On the Mend podcast, Gabby said: “My son says I have an unbelievable radar. He says ‘How can you tell I’ve had a beer, nobody else would be able to tell’.”

Gabby has previously revealed she met Kenny, a professional rugby player, at a bar in Chelsea, London. The pair dated for two years before tying the knot in 2000. They now share twins Reuben and Lois together.
