BBC Sports presenter Gabby Logan has opened up about her sex life with husband Kenny, and joked that her children would be “mortified” if she said too much

Gabby Logan has clarified the reports about her “daily romps” with husband Kenny.

In October, Gabby shared that her interest in sex had returned after starting hormone replacement therapy (HRT). The BBC Sport presenter expressed her concerns about becoming so uninterested in sex that it might “become a duty”.

The 51-year-old began experiencing perimenopause symptoms four years ago. However, instead of identifying these changes, she felt as though she had become a “lesser version of herself,” according to The Sun.

After a doctor found her hormones were “on the floor”, the mother-of-two started HRT. In an effort to regain her former self, Gabby took up cold swimming and other lifestyle changes, reports Wales Online.

Within a week or two of beginning the treatment, Gabby says her sex life with Kenny began to improve. As reported by The Sun, she said: “My libido came back within about a week and our sex life was back on track – even to the extent of having daytime sex.”

During the We’re Not Getting Any Younger Podcast, host Lisa Snowdon asked Gabby about her “daytime romps”, as they were reported at the time. This followed Gabby’s revelation that her son Reuben, a professional rugby player, had asked if she ever “let loose”.

Lisa asked: “You said Reuben is like, ‘Loosen up, loosey goose’, but what did he say about you mentioning your daytime romps? Was it like, ‘Now you’ve gone too loose’. There was a moment in the papers where it was like, ‘Yeah, our sex life is back on track.'”

Gabby has clarified her comments on her personal life, stating: “The word romp, I don’t think has ever come out of my mouth until that week when I was paraphrased as, ‘Now the kids have left home, we can have daily romps’, I think what I’d said was, someone had said something about sex life with midlife women and things, and I was saying at least when the kids go home, you’re not confined to evening sex. So in theory, you could have sex during the day.”

She humorously added: “I was totally oblivious to it to about 6pm because I was doing loads of podcasts and I’m wandering around and sometimes you know, ‘People have looked at me that day having read that headline’, and they’re probably thinking, ‘She better get home, it’s time for a romp’.”

Discussing the delicate topic of her sex life, Gabby light-heartedly mentioned that her 19-year-old twins Reuben and Lois “would kill her” if she divulged too much. However, she shared their amusing take on the media’s portrayal of her “daytime romps”, saying: “I think because the word romp was used the kids thought it was quite funny. I have never used it, the headline writer used the word.”

Gabby met her husband Kenny, a former rugby player, by chance in a London bar back in 1998. She once disclosed an amusing anecdote about their first encounter, revealing that Kenny initially mistook her for TV presenter Gabby Roslin while “chatting her up”.

Despite the humorous case of mistaken identity, the pair hit it off, leading to their marriage in 2001 at a lavish ceremony in a Scottish village church. The couple welcomed their twins into the world in 2005.
