The actress surprised fans as she posted the behind the scenes snap

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley took fans by surprise as she posted a picture of “another day at work” alongside Mandy Dingle’s stunt double.

Lisa first appeared in the ITV soap back in 1995 as Mandy Dingle before becoming a full-time cast member in 2019. Her character is best known for her bubbly persona, often providing comic relief for the rest of the village.

Recent storylines for Lisa has involved Mandy narrowly missing out on a deadly fate during the Valentine’s limo crash as she swapped places with Liam Cavanagh moments before the journey so that he could propose to Chas Dingle.

Mandy also found herself in further danger after Ella Forster held her hostage in her own home as she demanded to speak to Liam in a desperate attempt to clear her name.

The character has also been working on her relationship with son Vinny after he found out that Mandy isn’t his biological mother, as she adopted him from her cousin Tina Dingle who didn’t want to raise him.

Taking to her Instagram on Thursday (24th April), Lisa posted a cheery snap of her posing alongside a woman named Angela who acts as her stunt double on Emmerdale.

Dressed in the same clothes – apart from the shoes – and donning matching hairstyles, Lisa wrote: “As if one Mandy Dingle was not enough this morning filming at the village at @emmerdale ……..you get TWO, THANKYOU to my lovely body double Angela, absolute sweetheart… next time you get Mandy’s Cowboy Boots also just another day at work!!!!”

Former Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn commented: “double trouble” to which Lisa jokingly replied: “you know me so well”.

The stunt double, Angela, added to the conversation herself as she penned: “Thankyouuuuuu so much @lisajaneriley for all your support and gorgeousness let’s face it .. there’s only ONE Mandy Dingle… such a fab day with you”.

Meanwhile, some fans were concerned that the stunt double means Mandy could be ending up in some trouble later on this year. @andrea_1607 mused: “Oh does this mean Mandy is having a food fight again”

Another fan @wavey1068 added: “Not good if there’s a stunt woman, it means Mandy is in trouble” as @cookinju wrote: “Hope this doesn’t mean Mandy’s in danger at some point ? Can’t have anything happening to her.”
