Here’s what you need to know:
The actress sent birthday wishes to co-star Dominic Brunt who plays Paddy Kirk
Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley took to her social media as she wrote a birthday tribute to on-screen husband Dominic Brunt.
Lisa is a long-standing resident of the Dales after taking on the role of Mandy Dingle in 1995 before finally landing the role as a full-time job in 2019. Mandy has had her fair share of drama while in the village, mostly at the hands off her on-again-off-again relationship with Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt).
She first fell in love with Paddy Kirk in 1997 but the pair broke up time and time again before finally agreeing to stay together in 2023.
Mandy faced more ups and downs in recent weeks with a close shave recently as she swapped places with Liam last minute in the limo so that he could propose to Chas. Instead of being in the limo that crashed into the frozen lake, she instead escaped icy peril
Not to mention her recent close call when Ella Forster returned to the village determined to prove her innocence after Chas accused Ella of drugging her.
Taking to her Instagram on Tuesday (15th April) she posted a collage of snaps with Dominic as she wrote: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOMANICA I want to send you a big birthday squeeze-you know I love the bones of you hope you enjoy your special day-I will see you soon.”
She then added: “To the best Work Husband anyone could ask for-thank you for the laughs……and even more laughs!!!”
Dominic has played the role of Paddy since 1997, and previously shared his tactic to get Lisa to return to the ITV soap. He said: Oh I just told her a lie, yeah, she said: ‘Is it still full on, is it still really busy?’
“I think we were filming two or three episodes a week at that point when she left. I said: ‘No, no, no, it’s calm. You can be busy then you go quiet then you go busy then quiet.’
“Then two years later she was going: ‘You lied to me!’ and I was like” to which he shrugged his arms. Explaining his reason for the lie, he added: “I just wanted her back because I really missed her!”
Lisa’s post comes just days after she shared a Dingle family throwback, where she wrote: “Emmerdale Flashback!!!!! where Mandy was dancing for her dinner she seemed to have caused a bit of a commotion
“Can you believe this is 29 years ago Where did the time go?????? The Dingles still causing bother” as she had various laughing emojis.
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
