Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly has shared how “lucky” she feels while fans congratulated the actress for her recent British Soap Awards nomination.

Beth joined the soap in 2024 to take on the role of Ruby Miligan who has recently been centre stage thanks to a harrowing storyline focused on her abusive father Anthony Fox who has since been murdered.

After her character showed up in the village, she was later followed by her estranged father Anthony and her daughter Steph.

Things felt tense between the trio at first, and it was soon revealed in harrowing flashbacks that Anthony had repeatedly abused Ruby when she was younger.

As she opened up to Chas, Ruby decided to do a DNA test for Steph and the results found that Anthony was her biological father, and not Caleb.

During recent weeks, Anthony wound up dead at the depot after Aaron threw several deadly punches after learning about his actions which mirrored that of his own father – Gordon Livesy.

It was Ruby, however, who had officially ended his life after she found him bleeding out on the floor.

John Sugden had cleared the crime scene of any evidence and promised to dispose of the body.

Due to her stellar performance, Beth was awarded with “Best Newcomer” at the 2025 TV choice awards, and has now been nominated for “Best Leading Performer” at the British Soap Awards.

Other Emmerdale stars Danny Miller, Eden Taylor-Draper and Mark Charnock have also been nominated for the same award, along with Ned Porteous for “Villain of the Year” and Nicola Wheeler for “Best Comedy Performance”.

Taking to her Instagram, Beth posted a snap of her all glammed up on the set of Emmerdale as she wrote: “How good is having your hair and makeup done ????? Lucky us. When @emmerdalemakeup @klarej1 does yer makeup – to look like you’ve just got back from holiday – and you feel a million”.

Fans were quick to congratulate the star, as @laurenblancx wrote: “Our beautiful BSA nominee!!!” and @carlasconnorr added: “congratulations on your nomination!”

@ahumanmoon commented: “omg you look incredible and congratulations on the bsa nomination !! can’t wait for you to sweep” and co-star Bradley Riches who will be making his Emmerdale debut in May wrote: “Gorgeous!!!! Xx”.

Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
