Aaron could be playing with fire as he begins to question John Sugden

Emmerdale viewers expressed their concern for Aaron Dingle as he seemingly hit the nail on the head when arguing with John Sugden.

Aaron and John struck up a relationship together shortly after John arrived in the village. Even though they’re engaged, viewers were quick to cast their suspicions on John – and the ITV soap has revealed they were right to be cautious.

During recent episodes, fans of the Leeds-based soap were shown various flashbacks that showed John’s actions when no one was looking.

It appears as though he has some sort of “hero complex” and feels desperate to prove himself capable of saving people.

One instance saw him swap Chas’ pills which led her to have an overdose.

While Ella Forster was the one who took the blame, John received the outcome he was hoping for as he was praised for saving Chas.

Viewers also watched as he sent Jacob into an anaphylactic shock and hid his AAPI pen, meaning he was the only one who could “save” him.

In an even more harrowing twist, Nate Robinson’s final moments were finally shown after he “left” the village last year and hadn’t been heard from since.

Fans saw his body at the bottom of the lake during the Valentine’s limo crash, but how he got there wasn’t unearthed until recently.

John was seemingly trying to save Nate after the barn fire, but ended up killing him instead. He then wrapped Nate’s body up in chains and dumped him in the lake.

During Monday’s (14th April) instalment, Steph was convinced that Anthony was still alive and went to dig up his grave where John had told the “murder club” he had buried him.

Steph soon realised that there was no body under the ground, and the group were quick to confront John. He said: “I thought someone might slip up… He is dead but it’s too risky for you to know anything.”

Aaron quickly became uncomfortable around John after realising he had lied to him this whole time, and even called John out for wanting to “play the hero”.

Now, fans are worried for Aaron as he’s seemingly clocked John’s motive for hurting all of these individuals. On a Reddit thread, u/ProfessionalMermaid_ wrote: “Aaron mentioning John wanting to ‘play the hero…'” as a viewer on a Facebook fan page continued: “I’m worried for Aaron, he’s going to end up in trouble”. @mitchelld199 on X (formerly known as Twitter) added: “Oh Aaron is noticing how John always wants to play the hero”.

@DannyMFansite penned: “John is back in Aaron’s bad books again & Aaron has also clocked John likes to play the hero” and @pixxalt_ echoed: “Aaron immediately siding against John,,, and then John playing on Aaron’s guilt to win him over,,,,, okay,,, okay this is how it’s gonna keep playing out huh”.

@kghaiths added: “and tomorrow john is snapping at him and the next day tells him he’s a control freak and they go back to playing house somehow??? someone needs to get him out of there”.
